I could still remember when BVN was introduced by the government. Several people did not take it seriously until it was taken seriously that you will not be able to do any further transaction in your account. That was when people came out to register for their BVN.
Well, I won’t blame you for it because it is the way most of us were wired to react to life issues. It is similar to a chronic smoker who has been given the advice to quit his uncontrollable smoking habit but he won’t listen, until the doctor warns that he might die of cancer of the lungs soon if he does not quit.
… Or a chronic consumer of spirits will never quit drinking until the doctor warns him that if he does not work on his drinking habit, his liver will be defunct soon; this will lead to diabetes Type A and B plus other liver-related diseases.
Similarly, when a skill you should have acquired, (like learning how to use an Accounting Software) becomes a threat to your career or job, will you push it aside and regard it as something not important?
Whereas, you eat daily to ensure that your body can be healthy and fight against unknown bacteria and virus. Why then did you refused to build the skill that can help you fight against non-favourable government policies, economic policies that are currently altering your yearly plans?
Knowing what you now know? Do you still want to sit on the fence banking and hoping that things will always be favourable? Please bear in mind that change is the only permanent thing in life that is constant.
If you prepare for or initiate the change, it will always be in your favour. However, if you let circumstances of life initiate the change for you, then be ready to battle like someone who cannot swim but be pushed into the ocean to swim. Just picture the outcome.
